Article for double page spread

Worthless J founded in Dublin,Ireland in 2007 only for a school 'talent show'. 2 years later behind fire shot their fame to stardom and signed to slam dunk records and now have a UK top 10 album and are just about to go on their sell out tour. We get a exclusive first look interview since the bands huge success.

Originally from Dublin in Ireland but now Ive moved to a new apartment in London to be closer to work but i do miss my family.

How exactly did your record producer find you? tell us your story.

Well ive always loved singing so i entered myself into the school 'talent' competition. I played guitar and sang a cover by Muse. I came first which helped me boost my confidence and i ended up singing at my parents wedding which then had me with lots of my parents friends wanting me to sing at there family events. But then at one wedding i was doing some guy came up to me and asked if i had a cd i could give him and told me he was a family friend from london but also a record producer so i thought nothing of it and then two weeks later he told me i could have a oppertuinity of a record contract with him. i was proper over the moon. Even better that i could sing in a genre i was comfartable in. Rock. so yeah, nothing exciting.

 Who are your influences?
Hayley williams from paramore is one of my big influences. Man she has a big powerful voice. I also dont mind florence wench from Florence and the machine to. Ellie gouldings got a good voice to and erm her from the pritty reckless who was in that christmas film the grinch. shes becoming big. Theres not many female rock stars at the moment which is encouraging me to become succesful.

How will you be spending Christmas?
Just went back to dublin and spent it with the guys from school partying as you do and my family.

Do you write your own songs?
Yeah i write my own songs but i get influences from other bands. Sometimes i like to do a odd cover now and then.

Were do you get the ideas from?

Everyday life i guess, whatever i feel is relevant i like to jot down and sometimes bring it into a song.

what do you like to do when your not on tour?
I like to see my family, shop,go to gigs, spend time talking to my fans on the internet. Pigging out on food. The usual rockstar stuff.

Have you meet any other successful bands on tour?
yes yes yes! i met Hayley Williams and just like any other of her fans i was very star struck shes such a lovely lady and i wouldnt mind singing with her some time.

Whats your favourite part of touring?
Been on the tour bus with all the people who are the reason behind the set and the whole tour is actually crazy! its like going on a mini holiday sleeping in them little beds. I also like visiting different parts of the country and picking up soverniers.

how do you feel about your new song going into top 10 in the loud charts?
it was a great feeling and made me love my fans so much and encourage me to do better and get to number one.

What do you want to achieve in the next year?
Go on a sell out tour. Meet new people. Maybe meet some of my fans. Bring out a merchanise for tops and stuff and just have a rocking time.

Name of magazine and why?

Out of my ideas of names for my music magazine i have chosen 'loud' because it represents the music that the magazine is going to publish. Also it is a short and snappy name so this will make the audience remember it more.

Housestyle

My chosen house style is going to be the colours red (because i found this was used mostly on the music magazines i analysed). Also the colours gold, black and white because these are very simple colours and work well against each other and are also found in some of the magazines i analysed.

I have chosen this as my masthead/title of the magazine because it is bold and looked like it had beenatterd just like 'kerrang's title. But its not as over the top as kerrangs shatter in the name. This is good because the music in my magazine is not as rock as kerrangs.
